Kilndown Village Wedding Reception
On 29th June 2019 we had the real pleasure of playing deep in the Kent countryside at a lovely village wedding in Kilndown. It was hot! It was in fact the hottest day of the year so far with some temperatures as high as 34 degrees. Fortunately, we were in a large marquee with 2 of the sides open which was perfect!
When we arrived, the wedding was still taking place in the local church. Then shortly after we'd started setting up, the bride and groom and their guests arrived for reception drinks outside. Speeches followed this, then they went inside for the wedding breakfast.
We carried on setting up and sound checked.
First Dance
For the first dance, we were asked to perform You Do Something to Me by Paul Weller. We haven't played this for a while so it was nice to dust it off. Following the first dance, we played the first of 3 live music sets.
Client Feedback
'We've already received some great feedback from our client as well as some kind words from a local resident who heard us playing and wanted to get in touch. They said the following in an email: We heard you from a distance in Kilndown tonight and would love to book you for 15 August 2020 if you are available. We heard you live by accident from our garden and followed the sound.'
Our client on the day had this to say about The RockPins: 'Thanks Matt – you guys made our day and were brilliant – we also had other villagers that loved the music from their back gardens.
